About Me
Board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. David Tomajan joined Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group as part of the Rehabilitation Center in 2024. In addition to his board certification as a physiatrist, he is also board certified in electromyography (EMG), a specialized test that helps diagnose neuromuscular disorders.
Dr. Tomajan is a Central Valley native who graduated as valedictorian from Reedley High School. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he majored in integrative biology and physiology, and then obtained his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Pennsylvania. Dr. Tomajan specialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Stanford Health Care, where he also served as chief resident. He then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric rehabilitation medicine through the University of California, Davis.
Dr. Tomajan has received multiple awards for his contributions to patient care and tremendous respect from peers, including the prestigious Gold Humanism Honor Society recognition for compassionate care, outstanding first year resident award, the Stanford Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation award for camaraderie and team spirit, and Peter Singleton award, which is gifted to the resident who has contributed the most to the program over the previous year.
His commitment to helping children extends beyond medicine, as he has actively participated in community outreach and volunteer programs, including providing medical care in rural Himalayan villages and coaching Special Olympics athletes.
Outside of work, Dr. Tomajan enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking, running, skiing, swimming and traveling.
